Holyland Donkey Haven was started in 2011 by its founder, Angela Langoski.  Our goals include rescuing donkeys, rehabilitation of the donkeys and teaching others about donkey care.  Holyland Donkey Haven is a safe place where people of all ages and abilities are welcome.  Our facility is a drug, alcohol and smoke-free enterprise. Families are encouraged to schedule a visit!

We operate the sanctuary with donations from the public: please consider spreading the word about this wonderful cause.  We are a 501(c)(3) charity, which means that any donation is tax deductible.
Other services that may be available include: boarding donkeys, assistance and recommendation of veterinarians, farriers and equine suppliers.  Holyland is the only donkey rescue located in Wisconsin - we want people to know there is help for donkeys!  We are here to help in any capacity!

"What can you do with a donkey?"  This is the question commonly asked of us.  The answer:  Whatever you do with a horse!  Donkeys have many uses and are very adaptable... anything you can do with a horse you can do with a donkey.  Donkeys, like humans, thrive when they are loved and cherished.

When a donkey has been rehabilitated, some of them are trained under saddle or taught to pull a cart. This extra training enhances the skill set of the donkeys and increases the potential for adoption. Donkeys are extremely intelligent, affectionate and gentle. The donkeys have also been utilized as an effective therapy for special needs children and adults.

Our ultimate goal at Holyland Donkey Haven is to find a loving forever home for every donkey in our care.  When that isn't possible, as a no-kill shelter, we will provide a safe haven where donkeys can live out the rest of their lives knowing they are loved and supported.

We hope you will join us in this mission!
